Official Records Contacts

This is a private reference resource, not a government office. It cannot confirm someone’s custody or release, post bond, release anyone, or obtain official booking records. For those services, contact the government office that holds the record directly.

Where to Seek Wright County Records

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office is the principal contact for jail reports and Sheriff-held booking records. The Law Enforcement Center records counter is on the second floor at 3800 Braddock Avenue NE, Buffalo, MN 55313. The Sheriff’s main number is 763-682-7622, the 24-hour non-emergency line is 763-682-1162, and the office fax is 763-682-7610. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Use 911 for an emergency.

For a focused Sheriff record request, use the official Sheriff’s Office Record Requests page. Requests may be sent to sheriffrecords@wrightcountymn.gov, faxed to 763-682-7683, or delivered to the records counter. The county does not publish a fixed turnaround. Describe the name, approximate date, location, known agency, and requested item so the records unit can identify the correct file.

  • For a recent adult booking, current adult custody, or a jail publication, start with the official Wright County Jail page and its Media Report, Census, Weekly Booking Data, and Court Calendar links.
  • For a Buffalo police incident report or city-held data, use Buffalo’s Public Data Requests route. Buffalo Police is separate from the Sheriff’s report repository.
  • For a Minnesota sentenced-prisoner or supervision search, use the official MNDOC Locator. It is not a Wright County jail booking feed.
  • For federal prison custody, use the official BOP inmate locator. It does not provide local booking photographs.
  • For relevant immigration custody, use the official ICE Online Detainee Locator, subject to the locator’s eligibility and search limits.
  • For a court case outcome, search official Minnesota Court Records Online rather than relying on the allegation listed in a booking report.

Charges at arrest or booking are accusations, not convictions. The court record is the appropriate source for a case disposition, and the original agency should confirm any current custody information.
